It is an organization that prides itself in developing the very best educational materials, programs and systems for every facet of the cosmetology industry. As an added benefit, Pivot Point offers a variety of graduate-level courses designed to keep the interests of the students in mind and updated with the lasted innovations in the beauty industry. As graduates of Federico Beauty Institute and the Pivot Point program, students will receive two five-hundred dollar vouchers to continue their education in Pivot Point courses and workshops.

The product lines we use were selected for two reasons: 1) they are leading manufactures of beauty products used in professional salons and 2) they are committed to delivering continuous education to our staff and students. STUDENT ACTIVITIES & CONTESTS

From fashion shows to social functions, sales contests to model castings, you are given ample opportunity to play! You make friends, have fun while exercising the skills you learn in class. We coordinate competitions where student teams create unique designs of hair, make-up, and nails. This fun competition is also a lesson in creativity and teamwork.

GUEST SPEAKERS - learning from the best in the business!

We enlist the expertise of highly-qualified guest speakers to provide a higher level of product and industry knowledge so you learn from the experts in the field! From manufacturer presentations to salon owner and employee presentations to full product launches, students at Federico Beauty Institute are given the opportunity to learn from experts in the industry on a regular basis.

TRADE SHOWS & INDUSTRY EVENTS

We participate in industry, business, and other events that bring members from the professional beauty industry together. These activities are great opportunities to keep current on new products, treatment, and technology. Again, you can earn hours towards graduation.

COMMUNITY SERVICE EVENTS

It's important for our students to receive an education beyond the training needed to pass state boards. By participating in community outreach activities, we've combined the best of both worlds. You can gain an understanding and sense of responsibility for giving back to the community and the world in which we live. Hours spent performing volunteer beauty services are counted towards graduation.

This is where we brag. To prepare our Esthetics students to work in high-end spas, we offer state-of-the-art equipment and train every esthetic student on the latest technology. We are the only learning facility in the Sacramento region that provides training on the following:

VICHEY SHOWER

Originating in France, The Vichey Shower consists of a wet treatment table and a seven head shower system.

• Provides pressure point massage over the entire body to assist in the relaxation and stimulation of the mind and body

EXTERNSHIP PROGRAM

In 1995, our very own Gary Federico worked with other beauty colleges within the state of California to enact a

law that allowed the first externship program in the nation. This program was created to encourage senior students to step outside of the facility, continue their hands-on experience and receive credit towards their licensing requirements.

• Scheduled shadowing sessions with an esthetician or stylist one-day a week
• A better understanding of what is expected when working in a professional salon
• A working interview with a professional salon/spa for future job openings
• An effective way to evaluate future graduates for placement at a specific salon/spa, increasing employee retention

PRE-APPLICATION TO STATE BOARD

Generally, if you wait until after graduation to apply for state board, it could take six to eight weeks to receive a test date.

To speed up this process, we encourage you to pre-apply so they are able to take the State exam no later than 10 working days after graduation.

We provide career placement services to our graduating students.
