When most people think of a career in the beauty industry, they imagine providing services to clients in a salon or spa. But there are many opportunities available to you! Charlotte Price, a graduate of Federico Beauty Institute, used her esthetics training to become a Certified Aveda Educator. She now works at the Cinta Aveda Institute in San Francisco as the Lead Educator for the esthetics program.

Charlotte graduated from the esthetics program at Federico Beauty Institute in 2003. She originally considered finding a massage therapy program, but when her brother-in-law recommended Federico to her, she went for a tour. She ended up loving the school so much, she enrolled that day!

"Federico has more than just a state of the art facility, they have a state of the art education!" says Charlotte. "They set students up for realistic success in the industry."

After graduating from Federico Beauty Institute, Charlotte worked at Strands Salon and Spa, an Aveda Concept salon as an esthetician. She moved on to work as the lead esthetician at Cinta Salon, owned by Cinta Gibbons. She grew to love makeup, but always had an interest in teaching.

While working at Cinta Salon, she was given the chance to help Cinta open the school, and became the Lead Educator there in 2008. In addition to becoming a Certified Aveda Educator, Charlotte is also a Certified Aveda Coach. She helps other estheticians take the exam to become Certified Educators.

Charlotte has always loved the Aveda company philosophy and products. She describes it as a supportive company, with a commitment to the environment. She also loves their focus on education.

"I've always loved taking classes and learning," she said. "And with Aveda, I was encouraged to learn and expand my education."

Charlotte designed the esthetics program at Cinta Aveda Institute based on the official Aveda curriculum. She is a second phase educator, working with students on the clinic floor and helping them refine their skills and techniques. She wholeheartedly believes that her education at Federico Beauty Institute has helped her as she pursued her career. She often thinks back to how her instructors at Federico explained techniques, and uses what they said to teach her own students now.

"Hopefully my story can help act as a model for other students. If you put the right energy into anything, you can achieve it," Charlotte said. "I always knew that education was my passion, and now I'm doing what I love, helping other people achieve their goals!"
